En la histórica ciudad de Eger, Hungría, el 9 y 10 de octubre del 2009, el mundo del karate se reunió en uno de los escenarios más exigentes del Shotokan: el XVII Campeonato Mundial “Gichin Funakoshi”, organizado por la SKDUN.

Más de 960 competidores de más de 86 países llegaron desde distintos continentes para medir su espíritu, técnica y carácter sobre el tatami. Europa, Asia, África y América se hicieron presentes en un evento de magnitud mundial, donde la élite del karate buscaba la gloria.

Y en medio de eseuniverso de campeones…un corazón peruano brilló con luz propia.

Jesús Antonio  Tapia Jorge, representante del Perú y forjado en la esencia del Karate-dō, conquistó la cima del mundo al proclamarse Campeón Mundial en Kata Individual, enfrentando a más de 60 competidores de altísimo nivel.

Aquel día, La Bandera Peruana se elevó en lo más alto del coliseo húngaro, simbolizando no solo una victoria deportiva, sino el triunfo del esfuerzo, la disciplina y la perseverancia.

UN MUNDO REUNIDO EN EL TATAMI-

Este campeonato no fue solo una competencia, fue un encuentro global:

  • Participaron delegaciones de Europa: Alemania, Francia, Italia, España, Rumanía, entre muchos otros
  • Representantes de Asia, África y América completaron el escenario mundial
  • Un total de 86 países integraban la organización internacional SKDUN, reflejando la magnitud del evento

En ese contexto, las fotografías de Jesús Antonio Tapia Jorge cobran un valor histórico: símbolo de respeto, hermandad y unión en el Karate-dō.

In the historic city of Eger, Hungary, on October 9 and 10, 2009, the karate world gathered in one of Shotokan's most demanding arenas: the 17th "Gichin Funakoshi" World Championship, organized by the SKDUN.

More than 960 competitors from over 86 countries arrived from different continents to test their spirit, technique, and character on the tatami. Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas were present in a world-class event where the elite of karate sought glory.

And in the midst of that universe of champions… a Peruvian heart shone with its own light.

Jesús Antonio Tapia Jorge, representing Peru and forged in the essence of Karate-dō, conquered the top of the world by becoming World Champion in Individual Kata, competing against more than 60 high-level competitors.

On that day, the Peruvian Flag was raised to the very top of the Hungarian coliseum, symbolizing not only a sports victory, but the triumph of effort, discipline, and perseverance.

A WORLD GATHERED ON THE TATAMI

This championship was not just a competition; it was a global gathering:

  • Delegations from Europe participated: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Romania, among many others.
  • Representatives from Asia, Africa, and the Americas completed the world stage.
  • A total of 86 countries made up the international SKDUN organization, reflecting the magnitude of the event.

ON OCTOBER 9, 2010, JESUS ANTONIO TAPIA JORGE RISES TO THE PODIUM ONCE AGAIN WITH A WORLD GOLD MEDAL IN LONS-LE-SAUNIER, FRANCE, EARNING THE TITLE OF TWO-TIME WORLD KARATE CHAMPION.
